Help for telly addicts

I’ve watched some quite good shows this year: Treason (Netflix), The Night Agent (Netflix), Echo 3 (Apple TV+), Jack Ryan (season 3), Beef (Netflix), The Recruit (Netflix). I’ve watched some really good shows this year: Picard season 3 (Paramount Plus), Slow Horses season 2 (Apple TV+), The Diplomat (Netflix), The Mandalorian (Disney Plus) and Rabbit Hole (Paramount Plus). I’m currently enjoying Citadel (Amazon Prime) and Silo (Apple TV+). Trying to keep abreast of the plurality of streaming services, I’m fairly certain I’ve missed a show or two.

Perhaps more importantly than keeping tabs on what I have watched, it is an increasing challenge to work out what to watch next. Luckily while I was in Giant (an American regional supermarket chain) the other day, I saw a copy of TV Insider. Being a telly addict, it was a guaranteed purchase. Aiming to provide a monthly overview of the new shows and films available across the pantheon of streaming services, it reminded me of the British Pilot magazine. Sadly Pilot didn’t survive in standalone form, but continued as a supplement of it’s parent Empire magazine and as a podcast.

TV Insider doesn’t take away all the strain of choosing what to watch, but flicking pages instead of scrolling through multiple apps is more time-effective. If you get chance, grab a copy.
